Music has been transforming with technology, so it’s unsurprising to see AI affect this art form. Google Music AI is gearing up to bring this change. 

The search engine company announced collaborating with various artists and music experts to develop Music AI Sandbox. 

It facilitates the creation of new songs with artificial intelligence, specifically, Syria, Google’s most advanced AI music generation model.

On May 14, 2024, Google announced its Music AI Sandbox. It contains AI tools designed to “create new instrumental sections from scratch, transform in new ways, and much more.” 

The online search company said it continues this AI experiment with Grammy-winning musician  Wyclef Jean, electronic musician Mark Rebillet, and Grammy-nominated songwriter Justin Tranter.

This research on AI-generated music has been ongoing since November 16, 2023. Google announced Lyria, Dream Track, and its other music AI tools on that date.

Lyria is its “most advanced music generation model,” which generates high-quality music with instrumentals and vocals.

It performs transformation and continuation tasks to give users more control over the AI output’s style and performance. 

Dream Track lets select treaters produce a unique soundtrack from AI-generated voices and the musical style of real-life artists.

These include Charlie Puth, Demi Lovato, and Sia. Dream Track users can enter a topic and choose an artist to generate a 30-second soundtrack for their YouTube Short. 

The other Google Music AI tools let you create new music from scratch and transform audio from one music style or instrument to another. 

Also, you may produce instrumental and vocal accompaniments. These AI-generated content come with SynthID watermarks to help people identify them as AI-made.
